Fallout 3, to say the least, is the second best game we've played this year. Fallout is the third game in the series of post-nuclear world games. It takes place 200 years after a world-wide nuclear war with china, where everything, except for a few small settlements, is completely destroyed. The only places that were protected from the bombs were the Vaults. The vaults were created so a select amount of families could survive and attempt to "re-create" the world as it was before the war.
The game begins when you, the "Lone wanderer", are born in the vault. At this point, you are able to create what your character will look like later in the game. After this, you go through the first sixteen years of your life in the vault. Then, after your father leaves, you become an outcast. You are removed from the vault and are forced to search the capital wasteland for your father.
The producers went through a lot of trouble setting up Fallout. There are nearly an endless amount of quests and even more enemies. The graphics are OK, but because of the amount of stuff the designers put in, they forgot to clean up some glitches. But my favorite touch, is the amount of weapons in the game. There is enough guns to keep even Hank Williams Jr happy. There aren't only guns either. There is melee weapons like the Chinese officers sword or the combat knife.
We liked this game a lot. But due to the amount of glitches, we had to lower the rating. In the end, we gave Fallout 3:
41/2 stars.
